Accessibility Statement
What is true today, what is not finished, and how to tell us about a barrier.
Effective date: September 18, 2026 • A Rich Off Education Learning Experience
Our commitment
Rich Off Education builds for the widest range of learners we can reach, including students who read below grade level, students who use assistive technology, students with motor differences, and students who are sensitive to sound or motion. Access is treated as part of the design, not an add-on.
Standard we are working toward
We use WCAG 2.2 level AA as a design target and reference point. We do not claim conformance, certification or compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, the ADA, EN 301 549 or any other standard. No independent audit has been completed, so any such claim would be unverified.
Accessibility features in the product today
Each item below was verified in the current build:
- Supported, Standard, and Challenge modes, selectable at character creation and by a teacher
- Supported mode uses shorter text, fewer choices, worked hints, and no countdown timers
- A reading-support option and a large-text option that scale text across the game
- Activities are tap-first: no activity requires drag-and-drop or a mouse
- Large touch targets for primary buttons and the bottom navigation bar
- Sound is off by default and can be toggled from the game header and from Help
- Every celebration, reward, and feedback moment is shown visually, so muted play loses nothing
- A site-wide reduced-motion rule that removes animation for visitors who request it in their device settings
- Dialogs use accessible dialog semantics with labelled close buttons; decorative illustrations are hidden from screen readers and meaningful art is labelled
- High-contrast text and background colors from one shared design system, plus visible keyboard focus styles
- Printable progress summary, observation checklist, and legal pages for offline or paper use
Known limitations
We would rather name gaps than imply they do not exist:
- No formal third-party accessibility audit has been performed, so no conformance level is certified.
- Full screen-reader testing across NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack is not complete.
- Some illustrated scenes — the town map and the home room — convey layout visually; their interactive parts are labelled buttons, but the overall picture is not described in detail.
- Keyboard-only play has been reviewed but not exhaustively tested on every screen.
- Screen-reader announcements for live updates, such as feedback toasts, are present in some places and not yet consistent everywhere.
- The game is designed for portrait mobile and desktop widths; very small or zoomed layouts may require scrolling.
Compatibility and testing
The experience is built with standard web technology and is tested primarily in current versions of Safari on iPhone and in current desktop Chromium-based browsers, at widths from 320 pixels upward. We cannot promise that every browser, operating system, browser extension or assistive technology combination will work correctly, and older browsers may behave differently.
Accessibility testing is ongoing and this statement will be updated as testing and fixes continue.
Report an accessibility barrier
